Accessibility statement

This statement applies to the Aspire Connect platform used by Aspire Academy and its partner schools. It covers all authenticated pages and public information pages (home, privacy, cookies, this statement).

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 AA in line with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

• Semantic HTML landmarks (single <main>, header/nav/footer) on every route.
• Design-system colour tokens tested for 4.5:1 contrast on body text and 3:1 on UI components.
• Keyboard-navigable menus, dialogs and tables using Radix / shadcn primitives with correct ARIA.
• Accessible names on every icon-only button (screen-reader labels).
• Focus-visible outlines on all interactive elements.
• Form fields with associated labels, error messages announced to assistive tech.
• Responsive design that reflows at 320 CSS pixels and supports 200% browser zoom.
• Support for OS-level reduced-motion and dark-mode preferences.

• Some PDF exports (attendance letters, safeguarding chronologies) are generated as tagged PDFs but have not been externally audited.
• Historic uploaded documents (staff files, incident scans) may not be accessible; contact your DSL or admin for an accessible copy.

We are actively working on both areas.

If you cannot access any part of Aspire Connect or need content in an alternative format, contact the school office and ask for the Aspire Connect administrator. We aim to respond within 5 working days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS). Public sector complaints in the UK are handled by the EASS under the Equality Act 2010.

This statement was prepared on 22 July 2026 following an internal review of the platform against WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria. It will be reviewed at least annually and after any major release.
